Embark upon an out-of-this-world adventure in this fourth book in New York Times best-selling author Christopher Pike’s Spooksville series. When Adam and his friends stay up late one night, they see bright lights in the sky. Lights that look suspiciously like flying saucers. This was actually a very well written book. The plot hung together nicely and the secondary characters added a nice depth to the story. The hero was a dreamboat. The Singularity. The day the machines gained awareness. The day they turned cruel. The day they overthrew their makers. In a distant star system, a planet-sized computer unleashes its hosts: fleets of warships, armies of robots, and a swarm of killer drones. Originally released in , John Wyndham’s The Kraken Wakes is a fairly unique novel among the best books about aliens I’ve shared.. For starters, the aliens attack via the oceans – not from the sky.
